I want to break your back

Lizzy is going through a phase where she gets quite jealous of all the attention the baby gets; especially since Hayden gets so much more holding time than she does. So when one of us is holding Hayden sometimes she'll ask to be held as well. Now I don't try to perform this stunt but Jason will sometimes indulge her and pick them both up, and often he'll complain, "you are breaking my back!"

So I guess it shouldn't surprise us when one day Lizzy wanted to be picked up when Jason was holding Hayden, she said,
"I want to break your back"!

"A lazy afternoon" - by Hayden

"So one day I was just lounging around, tasting one of my favorite toy cars...

"Then my sister made me watch this show with her, but I didn't really want to, I'd rather suck on my paci and check out Mommy over there with her fancy new camera...

"Then something exciting happened and I turned around to check it out...

"Oh man, this is super cool, I'm getting all into it...

"Okay, now I"m hooked..."

Mommy's Christmas present

Ever since I got into blogging, I've been complaining about the digital camera we have because it's got a tiny screen. I really coveted one of those cybershots with the big view screen. So my dear husband got me one for Christmas!! I absolutely love it and treat it like my baby. This is the picture that Jason took at the camera store (he took Lizzy along). As you can see, you can even draw on it. Lizzy loves to take pictures and make drawings on herself.

Still messing around

Hey, I'm still kinda used to the Xanga format so I messed up on the post about Christmas so that my writing doesn't match up with the pictures. Sorry about that, I'll figure it out sooner or later... It doesn't help that internet connection is still quite unreliable so I'm not always able to upload pictures, and mess around with the new blog.

Flashback to Christmas

It seems WAY too late to write about Christmas, I have already forgotten what it was like. This was the first year Lizzy had some comprehension that something fun was going to happen. These are some pictures we took of the kids the morning of Christmas.

The main gift that I got for Lizzy was this: can you guess what it is?

It's a train table! I bought a set of train stuff with a portable mat, and had a Chinese carpenter build the table here. It cost about 1/4 of the price of what I could get in the States. I was very pleased with the way it turned out. The best part about it is the storage underneath for toys. :)

Long Time No Blog

It's a long story really - earthquake - cables broken - no internet access - can't uploade photos in Xanga (for some reason in China) - switch to blogger.

The important thing is I'm here and I'm BACK! I'll try to go back to where I left off (which was Christmas) and catch up on the photos from back then, but for now, here are some recent pictures of the kids:

Just testing again...say hi Hayden!
