the Wu boys
When we were in Beijing for a doctor's visit, we saw some old friends. The Wu's have two boys, ages 1 and 3, as well as a cat. Hayden, unlike Lizzy who's typically terrified of animals, loved playing with the cat, as well as the boys. I was really surprised because normally he is quite reserved in other people's homes. He opened up to the boys right away and had a blast playing. Yes, Joshua IS a whole year older than Hayden but they are the same height.
Remember Sophie?
Remember Sophie? Lizzy's longtime friend who is a year younger. they've known each other since they were 1 year old and baby. Sophie and her family has moved away from Tianjin but come back to visit from time to time. They both remember each other.

Lizzy and Sophie have both become jie jie (big sister) to little brothers: Hayden and Matthew, who are only 3 months apart in age.

It was a bit hard to get 2 two year old boys to cooperate for a picture. They, of course, are too busy to actually play with each other. Hayden is quite a bit taller even though he is only 3 months older. If you met Matthew's parents you'd know why though... :) Hehe, hope the Walmsleys don't visit my blog!

Kunming
In China, the week of May 1 is a holiday so Lizzy had the entire week off of school. We went down to Kunming in Yunnan province to visit some friends. Here we are with auntie Leslie and Zhao Bin shu shu, they very graciously put us up for the week.

We also go to see some old friends who used to live in Tianjin - Ruby and Ryker.

Lizzy got to experience sleeping on the top bunk - she loved it!

We went to the zoo and asked a random stranger to take a picture of us

Here we are on the plane. Lizzy and Mom had a wonderful time in Kunming. But, we were very excited to come home and see the "boys"!

Carnival
Last weekend, Lizzy's school put on a carnival to raise money for their summer teams. Jason was busy with something so I brought the kids (felt a bit like a single Mom because everyone else went as families... :( Here's Lizzy bouncing at an inflatable castle.

Here she is doing a sailboat craft with a friend - Rose.

She was supposed to blow the boat along the water track. Hayden wanted to help.

Because Hayden was a bit young to do a lot of the activities, he just wandered around a lot. Although he kept getting lost because there were crowds of people and he's just so little.

Feeding her brother cotton candy.

We had so much fun at the carnival - hopefully next year, Daddy can come with us!
